Known for his iconic smiley flower and his joyous attitude, Takashi Murakami has become over the years one of the essential artist of the contemporary pop-art scene. Born in 1962 in Tokyo, he starts his career in 1995 and starts exhibiting his works around the world and collaborating with luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton and with musical artists such as Kanye West. Born rebel, he has always questioned the Japanese society through his works gravitating around a very colorful aesthetic wich he calls “Superflat”. Represented by Perrotin he however created his own structure “KaiKai Kiki Corporation” through which he represents several japanese artists and produces his own merchandising.
